Ultra V Lift: Beauty Secret of Korean Stars

Ever wondered how Korean movie stars and celebrities have radiant, porcelain-like skin? The secret lies in the advanced beauty technologies available in the country.
The intense competition in the beauty industry (apparently in the city areas, it is common to find over 100 beauty centres on a 100m street) caused rapid developments and creations that are making history around the world.
One marked example is the Ultra V Lift technology that is taking the world by storm for its safe, fast and effective results.  The anti-wrinkle facelift treatment that works from inside the skin is believed to be fast replacing Botox in Japan and Korea, and was recently launched in Malaysia by its founder Dr Kwon Han Jin, an Aesthetic Dermatologist and Surgeon from Korea who is also the President of International Aesthetics Medical Association.
Urban Health gets an exclusive interview with Dr Kwon during his visit to Malaysia to train certified Malaysian aesthetics doctors on using the Ultra V Lift.:

What exactly is the Ultra V Lift technology?
Dr Kwon: Ultra V Lift is a unique technology where fine threads called polydioxanone (PDO) that were commonly used in surgery are inserted into targeted areas under the skin to stimulate skin tissue.  As a result, the skin tissues create new tissue fibroblasts and collagen, which produces a tightening effect from inside out. When sagging skin is tightened, it creates a more sculpted ‘V-shape’ face as well as smooth, silky skin.

How is the procedure done?
Dr Kwon: The entire procedure takes about 1 hour, where an anaesthetic cream is first applied on the treatment area. The surgeon then deftly inserts the threads under the skin. There is hardly any pain, bleeding or swelling and the patient can go back to work after the procedure.  As the threads are dissolvable, they are slowly absorbed into the body safely.

Who would be suitable candidates?
Dr Kwon: The procedure is suitable for most people. My oldest patient is 88-years- old while the youngest is 20. Most patients are aged from 30-50, when the effects of ageing become apparent. Ageing causes the skin tissue to thin because the collagen and elastin fibers break down, which results in sagging skin, deep creases, folds and wrinkles. Ultra V Lift reverses the effects of ageing.

How is Ultra V Lift different from the traditional facelift?
Dr Kwon: Traditional facelift treatments are an involved procedure that is invasive. The surgeon pinpoints the incision to be made, inserts a thread in a certain direction and then fixes it by pulling the sagging skin. The area of application is limited due to treatment by thread and there is a recovery period. For Ultra V Lift, the application area is anywhere on the body, including the eye corners, cheeks, neck, nose, forehead, laugh lines, forearm and abdomen.

How long do the effects last?
Dr Kwon: The results last for 8 months to a year. All you need is an annual touch-up to stay young and beautiful forever.

Where can it be done?
Dr Kwon: The procedure is done by licensed dermatologists or aesthetic physicians only and I am currently training more doctors in Malaysia to do the Ultra V Lift. At the moment, there are about 100 Malaysian doctors who are licensed to perform the procedure. To find your nearest doctor, contact 603-9223 8000 or visit www.aesthetics.com.sg or visit the Facebook page of Aesthetic Marketing Asia, the sole distributor in Malaysia.  Costs begins from RM4,000.
